Jesus asked “What else is the Kingdom of God like?” It is like yeast used by a woman making bread. Even though she used as large amount of flour, the yeast permeated every part of the dough” Luke 12 v 20-21
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance” 1 Cor 13 v 7
Comment
I made bread recently with “out of date” frozen yeast which I had to melt and activate in sweetened water. Amazingly it frothed up and made some excellent granary bread!
Love in a marriage – even a struggling or stale marriage- is powerful like that yeast. When the yeast became active in the stodgy, heavy lumpy dough, it changed its character completely!
Letting God’s active giving love express itself through me in my everyday marriage will be just as transforming. Let’s all try it. Doing something really simple will be best!
Prayer (as a couple)
Lord God. Thankyou for my husband/wife. Help me to encourage him/her today. Help me to appreciate his/ her good qualities. Help me express my love well. May your love in me transform a dull day into one with some sparkle! Amen
Prayer (for others)
Lord please inspire _________ and ___________ with some simple ways of showing love to each other even in this difficult time. They may feel they have nothing left to give, but help them find resources in you so that love may flow again in their marriage. Please give them the will to live love towards each other AMEN
Final quote
