Scripture
Then David picked up his shepherd’s staff. He went out to a stream and picked up five smooth stones and put them in his leather bag. 1 Samuel 17:40 CEV
When Goliath started forward, David ran towards him. He put a stone in his sling and swung the sling around by its straps. When he let go of one strap, the stone flew out and hit Goliath on the forehead. It cracked his skull and he fell face down on the ground. 1 Samuel 17:48.CEV

David didn’t respond to the goading of Goliath in the expected human way by trying to put on Saul’s oversized and overweight armour – he picked up his staff, his sling and 5 stones with which he downed the ‘giant’. Are you facing some difficult (giant) issues? What could be some of the ‘stones’ that you could use to down those giants?
The stone of prayer – God answers prayer (He is there and does); the stone of past successes – we have overcome with God before, we can do it again; the stone of faith – God is always faithful (trust Him); the stone of courage – step out and face the giant (don’t run away or hide- David ran towards his giant!); the stone of unity – Husband and wife together in agreement is a powerful spiritual force.
Prayer (as a couple)
Father, whenever we are facing ‘giants’ in our lives, help us to recognise we need to have your staff for protection and the five stones to enable us to attack and down those giants, prayer, past experience, trust, courage and unity.
Prayer (for others)
Father, we think of _____ and _____ who are certainly facing some ‘giants’ in their relationship, may the truth contained in Psalm 23 help them to find safety and security.

Even when the way goes through Death valley, I’m not afraid when you walk at my side. Your trusty shepherd’s crook makes me feel secure. Psalm 23:4 MSG

I’m sorry to read your comment – that must be so tough for you. Naturally the main place you have to turn to is God – asking & trusting Him for everything you need. Our team will pray for you.
