Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.Ephesians 4:3
Comment
Every relationship experiences moments of disconnection. We misunderstand each other, say something badly, become defensive, or simply get it wrong.
A strong relationship isn’t one where these moments never happen. What matters is learning how to come back together afterwards.
Repair takes courage. Someone has to make the first move — perhaps with an apology, a gentle touch, or the simple words “Can we try that conversation again?” It doesn’t erase what happened, but it says that the relationship matters enough to return to.
And sometimes something surprisingly good happens in the repair: we understand each other a little better than we did before.
Reflection
What helps the two of you find your way back to each other after things have gone wrong?
Prayer suggestion (as a couple)
Ask God for the humility and courage to reach towards each other after moments of disconnection.
Prayer suggestion (for another couple)
Pray for a couple who may be stuck after conflict — that one small movement towards repair might open the way back to connection.
Final quote
“Strong relationships aren’t without rupture; they become strong through repair.”
