God hates pride and loves humility. In today’s world humility is likened to being weak. The trouble with pride is that it makes ‘me’ the centre of my life.
Humility is part of the character of God, God wants us to be humble and it’s even the criterion by which a successful king was judged. Humble people see themselves as servants and put the needs of others before their own; like Jesus did. A humble person listens without interrupting, manages anger and thinks of others first.
God tells us that humility leads to honour and blessing.
Prayer (as a couple)
Dear Lord, Thank you for your model of humility. Help ____ and I to be more like you. Help us to put both you and each other first, and to serve one other in a way that pleases you. May others see the difference that you make as we seek to grow in humility. Please bring us blessing and honour as we seek to humble ourselves before you. Amen.

Dear Lord, We lift up all of our married friends to you, in particular ______ and _____. We pray that they will enjoy the honour and blessing that comes from growing in humility. Amen.
