God wants a personal relationship with us. Just as a loving parent wants to talk to his or her kids so God wants to communicate with us. He wants to hear from us and he loves it when we listen to him. We talk to God and listen to him through prayer.
God particularly likes it when two or more people come together to pray in unity. Sometimes prayer is formal and done in groups, perhaps in a church, other times it’s an individual matter, just between us and God. We can pray out loud or we can pray silently, in our hearts.
Ever since the ‘forbidden fuit’ was eaten in the Garden of Eden humans turned their backs on God and ‘sin’ entered the world. Since then creation has been distorted or polluted… it’s not the way it was meant to be. Marriages have been effected too and we kid ourselves into thinking we are better off trying to make marriage work without God’s help. So we don’t pray.
When we do pray we begin to change and our marriages change too. Moreso when we pray together.
