Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate. Mark 10:9
Comment
I always find the part in a wedding service where the minister joins the bride and grooms hands together and prays this verse over them, so powerful.
It is acknowledging that right from the start of our relationship, our marriage is under attack and there are forces that would seek to destroy a relationship that God has put together.
It’s vital to keep praying that prayer over our marriages and ensure we are doing all we can to protect our marriage from any damaging influences. These could be people, attitudes, habits or circumstances.
Perhaps we need to change an area of our marriage to protect it?
Prayer (as a couple)
Lord please reveal to us any areas in our marriage where we are allowing ourselves to be open to attack and we ask You now for your continued protection over our marriage. Amen.
Prayer (for others)
Heavenly Father, we pray for _________ and ___________. We can see that their marriage is under attack. Please shield and protect their relationship right now. Amen.
Final quote
But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3
