She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. Proverbs 31:25

Comment

Laughter is holy. It cuts through tension, relieves pressure, and helps us not take ourselves quite so seriously. And yet, in the busyness and heaviness of life, it’s often the first thing to disappear from a marriage.

We’ve noticed that when we laugh together, even just for a moment, something shifts. We soften. We feel like teammates again. Sometimes it’s a shared joke, a silly mistake, a funny memory — or just giving ourselves permission to be a bit daft.

Laughter doesn’t mean everything is perfect. It just means we’ve made space for delight in the middle of it all.

Reflection

When was the last time you laughed together — really laughed? What helps you find lightness in your relationship?

Prayer (as a couple)

Father, thank you for the gift of laughter. Help us to rediscover joy in each other’s presence, to see the funny side, and to delight in life together. Amen.

Prayer (for another couple)

We pray for _____ and _____ — that their home would be filled with moments of lightness and laughter. May joy find them even in the ordinary. Amen.

Final quote

A good laugh is sunshine in the house. William Makepeace Thackeray
