Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4

Please excuse our cheeky picture this week! In seriousness, many of us feel like we are facing the ‘valley of the shadow of death’ at the moment. Ultimately we live in a world where evil exists that will do anything it can to stop us having the life God wants us to have and sometimes it feels like attack is all around. The Psalmist reminds us that God is with us even in the tough moments.
A shepherds rod & staff are not comfortable items they will push and shove the sheep to rescue it or keep it in the right direction but they keep the sheep safe & close to the shepherd. God is with us doing just that. Take comfort.
Are you keeping close to God in the tough times? Are you keeping close to each other?
Prayer (as a couple)
Father God, thank you that we can rest in the comfort that you are near us at all times. Whatever situation we’re facing please help us to submit to your guidance. Amen.
Prayer (for others)
Father God, we pray for _____ and _____ who are facing a really tough time just now. We pray into their situation and ask you intervene. May they know your comfort and guidance in a very real way. Amen.
Final Quote
Be strong. Take courage. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t give them a second thought because God, your God, is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you. He won’t let you down; he won’t leave you. Deuteronomy 31:6 (MSG)
