In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. 1 Corinthians 11:11
Comment
People talk a lot these days about life being a journey and of course this is true for marriage. When I look back over the years I realise that for the first seven years it was more like we were sharing a house than our lives. We lived independent lives.
Through some tough times we got better at talking deeply and opening up with one another. God used these times to help us grow closer and more trusting. These days we care for and lean on one another much more… we have become interdependent.
What does your relationship look most like: a marriage of two independent people or two interdependent people? Whatever situations you find yourselves in ask God to help you grow closer.
Prayer (as a couple)
Father God thank you that you are always there with us in the ups and downs of life. Thank you that you can use every situation for the good. We pray that you would help us to grow closer by being more open, trusting, caring and supportive of each other. Amen.
Prayer (for others)
Father God please help … and … to grow closer by being more open, trusting, caring and supportive of each other. Amen.
Final quote
If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Ecclesiastes 4:10 (NLT)
