All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. Ephesians 1:3-8

Comment

Today we remember Christ’s sacrifice for us as he gave up his life on the cross. Through this sacrifice we have been forgiven of our sins and set free. Our relationship with God has been restored to how it was in the beginning. Do you realise this is the same in our marriage? Through Christ’s death on the cross our marriages are set free so that we can enjoy marriage as God originally attended it to be – perfect harmony with each other and God.

Are you living out marriage as God intended it to be?

Prayer (as a couple)

Father God thank you for sending your son to die on the cross for us. Thank you that this has given the opportunity to have the perfect relationship with you and each other. We invite you to be in the center of our marriage. Amen

Prayer (for others)

Dear Lord, we pray for _____ and _____. May they come to know you and your plan for their marriage. Amen

Final Quote

Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan. Ephesians 1:11
