“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”Ephesians 4:32
Comment
Kindness might sound simple, but it has the power to transform a marriage. A gentle word, a smile, a small act of thoughtfulness can change the atmosphere of the whole day.
When stress or weariness creep in, it’s easy to be sharp with each other. We’ve found that even then — maybe especially then — a deliberate act of kindness can soften the edges and remind us that we’re on the same side.
Kindness is love in action.
Reflection
What’s one small act of kindness you could show each other this week?
Prayer suggestion (as a couple)
Pray that your home would be a place of kindness. You might pray, “Lord, help our words and actions to bring warmth, not harm.”
Prayer suggestion (for another couple)
Lift up another couple, asking that kindness would weave through their relationship in new ways.
Final quote
“A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees.”Amelia Earhart
