I am confident of this: that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion… Philippians 1:6

Comment

Sometimes we forget how far we’ve come. We focus on what still needs fixing — the patterns we haven’t broken, the habits that crept back in — and miss the quiet, steady growth that’s happened between us.

Growth in a relationship isn’t always loud or dramatic. Sometimes it’s found in how we now pause before reacting. In how we reach for each other in hard moments. In how we’ve learned to say sorry — or receive grace.

We’ve found that when we stop and celebrate the growth (even the tiny bits!), we start to believe we can keep growing.

Reflection

What’s changed in your relationship in the past year? What are you quietly proud of? Can you speak that aloud to one another?

Prayer (as a couple)

Thank you, Lord, for the ways we’ve grown — even when we haven’t noticed. Help us to celebrate each step, however small, and to keep trusting you with the journey ahead. Amen.

Prayer (for another couple)

We pray for _____ and _____ — that they would recognise how far they’ve come, and feel encouraged to keep going. Amen.

Final quote

Growth is often quiet, but never wasted.
