For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 NIV

Love came down at Christmas….who was this Love? The winsome baby lying in a cow’s feeding trough – the determined Love walking on earth without sin – the Love who poured himself out for us on a cruel cross. Some day this Love will return to judge the world. He will wind up time and put it aside like an old ball of string.
We serve a mighty and mysterious God. He is not a pocket deity, handy if we need him but able to be put safely away if we’re not in the mood. In the midst of mince pies and discarded trappings of Christmas, let’s pause to worship our mighty, untameable Lord.
Prayer (as a couple)
Mighty Lord Jesus, everlasting Prince of Peace, we pause to worship you now. Our hearts are full of praise to you. Thank you that you are Love and the source of all earthy love.
Prayer (for others)
Heavenly Father, we pray for our families. They are so dear to us. May they learn more of your great love for them and walk with you every day.
