“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”Ephesians 4:2
Comment
Every couple has those moments where patience runs thin — when words are slow to come, tempers flare quickly, or differences feel magnified. It’s normal. But patience is one of love’s greatest gifts.
Patience doesn’t mean ignoring frustrations. It means choosing gentleness over irritation, and giving each other time and space to grow. When we practise patience, we build safety in our relationship — safety to fail, to try again, and to be fully ourselves.
Reflection
Where do you find it hardest to be patient with each other right now?
Prayer suggestion (as a couple)
Ask God to grow patience in you. You might simply pray, “Lord, help me slow down and meet my partner with kindness.”
Prayer suggestion (for another couple)
Think of a couple under pressure — pray that they would have patience with each other as they walk through this season.
Final quote
“Patience is not the ability to wait, but how you act while you’re waiting.”Joyce Meyer
