“Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete.” — James 1:4
Comment
By now, the initial intentions of Lent may feel quieter. The energy of starting has passed, and what remains is the steady work of continuing. This is often where the deepest growth happens — not in dramatic shifts, but in small, faithful steps.
Love grows slowly. Trust is built over time. Change rarely announces itself; it shows up in patience, in softened reactions, in choosing to keep going even when progress feels invisible.
Trusting the slow work of love invites us to believe that something is forming beneath the surface — even when we can’t yet see it.
Reflection
Where might small, quiet changes be happening in your relationship that are easy to overlook?
Prayer suggestion (as a couple)
Ask God to help you trust the process of growth, especially when it feels slow or unclear.
Prayer suggestion (for another couple)
Pray for a couple who feel discouraged — that they would recognise signs of growth they may have missed.
Final quote
“Great love is built slowly, one faithful moment at a time.”
