Right now I’m sitting in my room, looking out of the window, and it is another beautiful day.  We’re not used to such wonderful weather for a whole summer and I give thanks. Sometimes though times are tough, like when a loved one becomes seriously ill, and I find it more difficult to give thanks.

Our attitude of gratitude marks us out as people who follow Jesus. We’re told not to worry, for we can trust our loving and faithful father God. The God who sent his son to die on the cross, so that we can be reconciled to him for ever.

Thankfulness is one of those profound spiritual remedies; it takes our eyes off ourselves and focuses them on our creator. Thankfulness is good for us.

Father, thank you for  _____.  Please help us to be people with grateful hearts. Please help us to focus on you and always be thankful, even when times are tough. Thank you. Amen
