Having 5 children, I can remember the first day of the holidays – the house would become chaotic and I had to let go of my control and concept of acceptable order so they could have friends and play messy games! They were always so excited to have 5 weeks when THEY could choose what they wanted to do instead of always having decisions made for them!
Holidays can be healing. As parents we can give special time to each child, We can “turn our hearts to them” and let God inspire us to greater understanding.

Prayer (as a couple)
Father- We need inspiration and resources from you to bless and strengthen our family over this holiday period. Help us to put our own agenda aside to make room for our children. We feel the need for rest ourselves, so please help us to find creative ways to be together and also find replenishment in body mind and spirit. Amen

Lord we pray for the (name)…. family. May their holiday this year be a success for everyone. Please help them to balance every one’s needs and may they come home with very happy memories that will be a lasting source of hope and joy.
