How great is the love that the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 3: 1a
Comment
This eprayer is going out on Saturday; it should have gone out yesterday. I messed up. I was too busy, too distracted, too… And now I’m mad at myself, I’ve let people down, I’ve let myself down and I’m embarrassed.
At times like this I find it very easy to forget who I am… a child of God, loved by Him, forgiven by Him, rescued by Him and to be re-united with him.
I guess that when we mess up we really do show what we believe in.
What do you believe? Does it show?
P.S. I am really sorry, please forgive me for being late with this eprayer!
Prayer (as a couple)
Dear Lord, Thank you that we are your children, loved, forgiven, rescued and to be re-united with you. Help us to behave as if we believe it, all the time, through the power of the Holy Spirit and may you be obvious in us to all around. Amen
Prayer (for others)
Dear Lord. We thank you for _____ and _____. We pray that they will know their identity as your children in a new way and that they will change in the light of this truth and that their behaviour will reflect their belief. And may you be obvious in them to all around. Amen
Final quote
“There are two things to do about the Gospel – believe it and behave it.” Susanna Wesley 1669-1742 (mother of John and Charles Wesley)
