Handling our worries together

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:6-7

Comment

I easily get stressed and worry about stuff. My husband doesn’t worry very often and I find that comforting. What is less helpful is when he says things like: ”don’t worry” or “there’s no point in getting stressed about it”.

I KNOW that!

The problem is my feelings! How do you handle worries and the everyday stresses and strains of life?

When my husband listens to my worries and doesn’t try to fix me I feel much better. When we pray together handing over anxieties to God I feel loved and supported by him and God gives me peace. I am so grateful to God and my husband that we can handle worries all together.

Prayer (as a couple)

Father God, thank you that you care about each one of us even when we worry. Please would you help us with … right now. Help us not to be anxious but seek your kingdom first. Please give us your peace. Help us also to trust you more and guard our hearts and minds. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Prayer (for others)

Father God, we pray for … and … We ask that you will help them with their worries, specifically with … Help them not to be anxious but to turn to you and find peace. We pray in Jesus name, Amen.

Final quote

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.  Luke 12:22-23
