And Mary said:

‘My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour…’

It’s Christmas. How do you feel?

I must admit I’m writing this before Christmas Day and so I can only imagine how I feel.

…like I’ve eaten too much. Probably.

…Exhausted and enjoying some ‘down time’. Definitely!

…Enjoying being with family…or, maybe not so much?

The question is: Does my soul glorify God? Am I rejoicing in God, my Saviour?

This week take some time as a couple to reflect on the above question as individuals, and whether our marriages glorify God. Then give thanks together for the good bits and ask for God’s help with any struggles.

Prayer (as a couple)

Dear Lord, we thank you for our marriage. Thank you that you can be part of our loves together. Thank you that our souls and our marriages can glorify you. We specifically thank you for … We ask for your guidance and strength so that every aspect of our marriages will bring glory to your name. Amen.

Prayer (for others)

Dear Lord, we pray for… and …. We thank you for the way their lives and their marriage glorifies you. Thank you for the example they are to people around them. We praise you Jesus for all you have done in and through them. Amen.

Final Quote

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 15:5,6
