“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbouras yourself. All the  Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.’ Matthew 22:36-40

There seems to be so stressful news at the moment – whether we’re worrying about Brexit, worrying climate change or issues closer to home … It’s easy to loose perspective. Mother Teresa once said that ‘the biggest disease today is not leprosy or tuberculosis, but rather a feeling of being unwanted, uncared for and deserted by everyone. The greatest evil is the lack of love’.

Whatever our circumstances God wants us to love Him and one another FIRST. What does that mean for our marriage right now? What gets in the way?

Prayer (as a couple)

Dear Lord, thank you that when we make loving you our first priority everything else comes into perspective. Please show us how to express our love for you more in our everyday lives. Please also show us also how we can love one another more in the way that we each need it right now. Amen

Prayer (for others)

Dear Lord, thank you that you are a God who loves. Please help ___ and ___ to connect deeply with you and to love one another in the way that they each need it right now. Amen

Final Quote

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
