Scripture

The Message that points to Christ on the Cross seems like sheer silliness to those hellbent on destruction, but for those on the way of salvation it makes perfect sense. 1 Cor 1:18 MSG

I’ve just seen Elvis. Now I’m off to have a chat with the fairies who live down the bottom of my garden. At least, this is probably what some of my friends think about me. They know I’m a Christian, that I base my life on something I can’t see or touch. So I’m pretty close to being away with the fairies.

The best response? “Let me take you to my leader.” Jesus is the only one who can make sense of this goofy Gospel – such good news or great foolishness, depending on your viewpoint. Have you made a stand for Jesus and found your friends and family rolling their eyes? This questions challenges me – I don’t always open my mouth when I should, but I pray for boldness and opportunities. What might be some ways we can introduce Jesus into the conversation?

Prayer (as a couple)

Dear Lord Jesus, help us not to shrink back from talking about you to our friends and family, even if they think we’re pathetic for believing. Let us be led by your Spirit so that our words will have just enough seasoning to make others thirsty for you.

Prayer (for others)

We pray for _______ to have boldness and power from you as they seek to be a witness in a tough situation.
