‘He suffered in silence, content to let God set things right. He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His wounds became your healing.
You were lost sheep with no idea who you were or where you were going. Now you’re named and kept for good by the Shepherd of your souls.’
1 Peter 2; 22-24 (Message)

Understanding Jesus’ death on the cross is a lifelong quest. At each stage of our spiritual journey the significance of His suffering may dawn on us a little more but this mystery of all mysteries, the extraordinary love of Christ is something angels struggle to understand (1 Peter 1;12) and is really beyond human comprehension.
But that shouldn’t stop us from trying! Why not take some time to share together some of your thoughts, feelings and revelation about the cross of Jesus as we mark this Good Friday?
Prayer (as a couple)
Lord Jesus Chris, we humbly come into Your presence and quietly thank You for the freedom and new life that You won for us through enduring an agonising death; actually becoming sin so we could be free for it forever. We worship You. Amen.
Prayer (for others)
Loving Saviour, we bring before You our friends ______ and _______ who need a fresh understanding of what You did for them on the cross. Where there is hurt, doubt and fear please pour in Your healing, faith and love. Amen.
Final quote
Salvation is so simple we can overlook it, so profound we can never comprehend it. (unknown)
