We’ve had our granddaughter (not yet 3) staying with us this week. I’ve been struck by two things; how much fun she generates – and that she’s still ready for fun when we think it’s time for her to stay in bed and go to sleep.
She’s gone back to Mum and Dad now and we’ll get some of our evening back – they of course will pick up their responsibility again.
Children are great fun and will thrive even more if Mum and Dad have given themselves permission to find opportunities to continue injecting fun into their own relationship.

Father, thank you for all that you give to us. Thank you for ___ and the pleasure we get from being together and doing things together. Help us to find the right balance in our life – to carry our responsibilities well and enjoy times of revitalisation. Amen
