Hope deferred makes the heart sick. Proverbs 13:12
“This hope will not disappoint us for we know how deeply God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His Love” Romans 5:3-5

I seem to meet so many people who have given up on God or each other because of disappointment. Repeated disappointment makes people loose hope.
The antidote is in Romans 5 v 3-5 especially v 5.
We are meant to experience the love of God NOW- not just remember it in the past or in books. Whatever our circumstances, experiencing the love of God gives us the faith not to give up but grow stronger.
When were you both last aware of God’s deep love filling your heart? Take time to talk and pray.
Prayer (as a couple)
Holy Spirit, we come to you now. Please fill our hearts once again with God’s love. Disappointment with life, with each other, with ourselves dulls our faith and breaks our hearts. Please restore hope again – hope in you, hope in each other. Help us to value our salvation again. Focus us again Lord in your love. Amen
Prayer (for others)
Pray for friends or family who struggle with disappointment. Realise that the enemy wants to use disappointment to extinguish their faith in God or each other.
Pray for God’s love to be poured right now into their hearts so they will know how much He loves them – This is the antidote!
God – please pour your love into their hearts right now – not memories of this in the past – not Bible knowledge but actual experience of your unfailing love Amen

This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls – it leads us right into God’s inner sanctuary. Hebrews 6:19
